SMIDS and Pheno Sight

Agricultural monitoring and forage phenotyping with UAVs, satellites and deep learning.

Two remote sensing projects in which I work as solution architect:

  • SMIDS (Drone and Satellite Image Monitoring System, 2024 to 2027): agricultural monitoring in the Amazon combining UAV imagery, nanosatellites and artificial intelligence.
  • Pheno Sight: phenotyping of tropical forages (Panicum maximum and Brachiaria) from aerial imagery and neural networks, supporting Embrapa’s breeding programs.

Scientific basis: papers in Sensors (2020 and 2021) and Computers and Electronics in Agriculture (2023) on biomass and dry matter yield estimation from UAV RGB imagery and data fusion.
